KAUWAHI ʻANAINA HAWAIʻI HAWAIIAN CIVIC CLUB

THE KAUWAHI ʻANAINA HAWAIʻI HAWAIIAN CIVIC CLUB

The name Kauwahi ʻAnaina Hawaiʻi means “our Hawaiian gathering place.” Hawaiians always enjoy getting together and when the members of Kauwahi ʻAnaina Hawaiʻi Hawaiian Civic Club (KAHHCC) gather, they know that they will connect with friends, family, ono food, music, and Na Mea (things that are Hawaiian).

SERVICE

Welcome To our Hui

From hula and mele to language revitalization and cultural workshops, our commitment to preserving Hawaiian traditions is an integral part of our Hui’s mission. Like the sacred Kalo plant, it is the roots that feed us. We believe that by fostering a deep connection to our roots, we can empower future generations to navigate the complexities of the modern world while staying grounded in the timeless wisdom of our ancestors.

While we are away from our island home, we still recognize the importance of community engagement and collaboration. Through partnerships with local organizations, educational institutions, and cultural practitioners, we work to ensure that Hawaiian culture remains vibrant and relevant, even if we are generationally or geographically removed from Hawaii’s direct influence.

Whether you were a longtime resident of Hawaii, a native Hawaiian, or just feel the Aloha spirit and appreciation for Hawaii, we invite you to join us on this journey of discovery and celebration. Together, let us honor the past, embrace the present, and pave the way for a future where the spirit of aloha thrives for generations to come.

Mahalo nui loa for your interest in da hui . We look forward to welcoming you into our ohana and sharing the magic of Hawaiian culture with you.

Upcoming Hui Events

We will keep you up to date regarding coming activities, hui gatherings, and service opportunities.

Unko Ben teach Make Lupulu

Uncle Ben Au will demonstrate how he makes
lupulu. This is a favorite and very special (because it is very
expensive) dish for Tongans and Samoans. It is similar to Hawaiian
laulau only made with taro leaves, corned beef, and coconut milk.
He will have a pan of lupulu pre-made and from that pan he can get
32 servings. We will be selling a bowl of lupulu with steamed taro
for $10.
